Day 1 / Koblenz & Kart Centre

The Rhine Valley between Koblenz and Bingen was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the summer of 2002.  After meeting your tour guide at the hotel he'll take you on a walking tour of Koblenz.

Situated where the Rhine and Mosel rivers converge, Koblenz is a popular attraction for many visitors to the area.  It has an abundance of cultural monuments and historic buildings set amongst cosy lanes, narrow alleyways and squares.  While strolling through the city centre you may choose to take advantage of the many cafes and bars or go shopping in the "Lohr Strasse".

Towards the end of the day's activities we take a short ride to the Conquest Karting Centre.  This indoor track is ideal for any budding Michael Schumacher and can prove to be a demanding and exciting experience (see if you can beat the track record).  The first 15 minute session is included in our tour price, if you have any energy left, additional sessions can be purchased at any time.

Day 2 / Trier

Our tour to Trier starts with a breathtaking ride along the Rhine Valley, famous for its countless hill-top castles and outstanding natural beauty.  On route we pass the Loreley Rock, where according to legend an enchanting maiden lured navigators to their doom.  We then head off along some wonderful motorcycling roads that weave through forests and rural countryside to our destination.  After a brief stop at Trier's Roman Amphitheatre we take a short ride to the city centre.

Trier has many remarkable Roman monuments that are still largely intact.  The Porta Nigra (Black Gate), the Roman Bridge and Constantine's Basilica are just three well worth a visit.  Trier is also a modern, thriving city with a large student population served by inexpensive cafes, bars and restaurants.
The market place with its abundance of beautiful architecture is one of the most magnificent squares in the whole of Germany.

On our return trip we ride a mixture of different roads including a section of de-restricted autobahn, ideal for those wishing to blow away any cobwebs.

Practice Makes Perfect
Fun at the Nurburgring
Tuesday

Day 3 / Nürburgring

World renowned since its completion in 1927, the Nürburgring is an experience not to be missed.  Getting there will be as much fun as being there, with twists and turns through some of the most beautiful scenery Germany has to offer.

The Nürburgring-Nordschleife is a circuit you can ride with your own motorcycle (please note that your motorcycle must have rear view mirrors on both sides and be road legal). One lap is an amazing 13 miles long, combining every conceivable challenge for man and machine.

There are several viewing areas at the trackside where you can watch and take photos before you have a go yourself.  The onsite shop sells T-shirts and other souvenirs and the cafeteria provides a chance to relax and re-charge your batteries before the return trip to Koblenz.

1 lap of the Nordschleife is included in all our tour prices, but if you feel like a little more practice, additional laps can be purchased at any time.

Wiesbaden
Good Quality Roads
Wednesday

Day4 / Wiesbaden

Another fabulous days riding starts with a journey along the colourful Lahn Valley.  Just past the town of Bad Ems we turn off into the Nature Reserve of Rhein-Taunus.  Good quality roads, typical for this area and a joy to ride, skirt around hills and mountains as we make our way to Wiesbaden.

Wiesbaden is an old spa city that's repeatedly described as having an incomparable charm, it's also considered to be the home of "Sekt" (German sparkling wine).  Just outside the city centre is the final resting place of World War One fighter ace Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron.

While in Wiesbaden you can enjoy the famous thermal baths and saunas or indulge yourself in a massage to ease away any aches and pains.  One of the most popular places to eat is in the 'Goldgasse', this charming narrow alleyway transforms into an outdoor restaurant during the warm summer months.

Day5 / Cochem

We head off into the Hunsrück (between the Rhine and Mosel river valleys) along some of the most incredible roads in Germany.  Bend after bend of sheer enjoyment will have you mesmerised.  We then ride down into the Mosel Valley and follow the picturesque river road to Cochem.  This town is a magnet for motorcyclists, especially during the summer months.

Cochem is situated in the most romantic part of the Mosel Valley and has many reminders of its medieval past.  Dominating the town from high above on a hill-top is Reichsburg Castle. Its pointed towers, battlements and oriels give the castle a fairy tale appearance.  The river promenade is a popular place with its many cafes and restaurants.  A few minutes walk away is the town centre where you will find winding streets and alleys packed with shops of all descriptions.

When the time comes to leave you will find our return journey no less rewarding.

Day6 / Boppard & River Cruise

We take a relaxing riverboat cruise along the Rhine to the town of Boppard.  Once on board you will find there are excellent facilities to make the one and a half hour cruise as comfortable as possible.  The restaurant provides meals at very reasonable prices and the bar gives you an opportunity to sample the local beer and wine.  Alternatively you can just sit back and enjoy the splendour of the Rhine Valley as you wind your way to Boppard.

One of the highlights of the day is a chairlift ride to Boppard’s ‘Vierseenblick’.  From the hill top you will have a panoramic view of the largest horseshoe bend in the Rhine.  There’s also a choice of cafes where you can enjoy refreshments while admiring the outstanding scenery below.

Before our return cruise to Koblenz we’ll take the opportunity to sample some of the wines produced in this part of the Rhine Valley.  These wines are not to be confused with the Liebfraumilch, Blue Nun and Black Tower etc. to be found in UK supermarkets. You’ll be tasting top quality, prize winning local wines.
