Outstanding Scenery
Remagen
We saddle up in the morning and head north-east towards the Westerwald National Park. The Westerwald is a low mountain range that's covered in thick forests and dissected by the kind of roads biker's dream of.  We zigzag through its awesome loops and undulations before riding down to the picturesque town of Linz.

Following lunch in Linz we cross the Rhine and ride the short distance to the site of the Ludendorff Bridge in Remagen.  This was the only bridge across the Rhine to be captured intact by the allies at the end of World War 2.  Due to extensive damage, it collapsed soon afterwards, but the remains of the bridge have been preserved and there's a museum dedicated to the events surrounding its capture, housed in part of the old structure.

After leaving Remagen we head back to Boppard along an impressive route through the 'Vulkan Park' (a still active volcanic region).  This unique riding experience is a perfect way to round off the day's tour.
